[ Update -- 26/07/07 -- from lex
As of June 2007, all miniBookExpo posts have been moved to their very own blog www.minibookexpo.com, please come on over and Claim it - Read it - Blog it ]
What you are looking at here is old!
Anyone who has heard me talk about BookExpo knows that one of the perks of this trade show is the books. Stacks of books. So many books that your arms and back hurt from carrying around the books. And that's if you're not trying to get books. If you are working it, well, you'd better have eaten your Wheaties.
The primary purpose of the BookExpo trade show is for publishers to promote their authors and titles to the Book Selling community. In actuality, it turns into maze of lineups and a feeding frenzy of free books.
However, you don't have to be a bookseller to end up with books. Lots of books.
This year, I got a number of titles which I probably won't read. So, since the purpose of the free books is to get some Word of Mouth going... I have decided to set up
Authors: carol bruneau, chris elliott, amy timberlake, christoper bram, david poulsen, david baldacci, donna van liere, elinor lipman, giles blunt, gordon dahlquist, greg iles, heather waldorf, inge barth-grozinger, jim fergus, julia steele, julie anne peters, kerry schooley, laurie stolarz, linwood barclay, louise candish, michael cunningham, michael winter, patrick jennings, paul kropp, portia da costa, rj harlick, meg harris, rabindranath maharaj, rosie childs, sara pennypacker, sara susannah katz, sharon osbourne, whitley strieber
Publishers: Canadian Publishers, insomniac press, anansi, , lobster press, key porter books, rendezvous press, fenn, random house, bantam books, bantam dell, hyperion books, hyperion, key porter, harper collins, blace lace, warner books, knopf, doubleday, time warner books, miramax books, little brown and company, st. martin's press, tor, william morrow, simon & schuster, pocket star books, springboard press, hotzbrinck, virgin books, washington square press

Yup, found a couple more in a bag in the corner.

Hello,
I have a reverse offer. I am a self-published author and I exhibited at Book Expo Canada. Lex either got a free copy of my book and thought it was so good he kept it for himself :-) or he never passed by my booth :-( Therefore I am offering a free copy of my book, You Can't Win If You Don't Enter, to Lex for his mini Book Expo.
I look forward to hearing from you Lex,
Carolyn

Carolyn,
what a wonderful offer. I did go by your booth (and got banded with a good luck bracelet) but sadly missed your signing event.
I will add your offering to the list.
thanks!

Hey Lex - my first review is up! Thanks again for sharing, this book was lots of fun.
Posted by: ers | July 04, 2006 at 04:17 PM
Hi Lex,
My book arrived today *woohoo!*
I'll start reading soon.
I was very impressed with the book itself - first edition, signed by the author, and a special little cd in the back. I don't think I've ever owned a first edition-signed-cd-in-back book.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. :)

Yay! I'm so glad you like it. Can't wait for the review. Keep me posted.
