Recently I discovered a new book by Maggie Mason entitled No One Cares What You Had for Lunch.
I plunked down the money eager to see why, exactly, no one cares what I had for lunch. I mean, people buy my book specifically to find out what I had for lunch so I was intrigued by why Maggie would say so cavalierly that no one cared.
Rather than going through the margin-eating online bookstores, I decided to order it directly from Maggie's Mighty Girl. I'm always happy to give the author a bigger slice of the pie. So I happily forked over the $16 for the book, and the $4 for international shipping. Little did I know that after a long wait, I'd also get dinged with a $6.50 customs fee.
Now this slim paperback is not only telling me "no one cares", it has also cost me over $25.
So I have decided that I'm going to get a tangible return on my investment and it's going to be measured in posts.
In the book, Maggie has created a list of 100 ideas to keep you inspired and help your blogging be fresh, interesting and engaging. It's an amusing read, with lots of examples pulled right from the blog-o-sphere. I also find that since the descriptive text and 100 idea's titles don't align perfectly in my mind, I'm really being offered many more than just 100 ideas. She's also broken the ideas into 5 chapters broken down by the time and energy you'll need to invest, from Chapter 1 - Fifteen Minutes to Fame to Chapter 5 - Think Like a Writer.
I will be following her 100 post suggestions one by one. Watch for the posts tagged "No One Cares".
And for those of you who do care what I had for lunch, I will let you know what I ate too.
Lunch: Greek Salad

Hey! I've had to listen to what you've had for lunch FOR YEARS!
Perhaps, instead, we can find a book called _Nobody Cares What Your Coworker Said_ or _Nobody Cares What Shoes You Wear_
I like hearing what you had for luch, especially when you usually bring me the leftovers.

What do you mean "had to"? You ask me what I had for lunch to wash the flavours of the food court out of your mind.
