Yes, I've just been through another round of bio-writing**.
You'd think that once you've written one bio, you've
written them all. But it's not true. Especially for someone with a portfolio-style career like mine has become. You need one for your books. Another one for your food blogging . Yet another one for your photography. Then there's the one for speaking engagements focused on creativity, entrepreneurship and blogging. And of course, the ones summarizing your expertise in content management, project management, business analysis and strategy.
And yet, while developing all of these 50-word bios, I can never seem to find an appropriate place to insert the following gem:
"Occasionally wondering why all the technology she was involved in bringing to market has resulted in phone sex lines and internet porn, Alexa prefers to think of her work as having high penetration... ah er um... resonance with the every-man."
** This time the bio was part of an application for media accreditation for Mesh - a Web 2.0 conference I very badly wanted to attend and report on. Unfortunately, we weren't awarded one of the 10 coveted media slots and by the time we found out the conference was completely sold out. So I don't get to go and tell you all about it. Tomorrow I might head over for the Mesh Unofficial Backchannel
