• Coldest day of the year ride
  Jan 30th is statistically the coldest day of the year, and the City of Toronto has organised a ride from City Hall to Metro Hall for those of us tough enough (or stupid enough) to brave it.

Yup, it's time for another LexnGer Photo Round-Up post. We'll skip their use on my own blog and on the CheapEats blogs - CETOblog.com & CEOTblog.com - the places you'd expect to see them popping up.

Down With Trousers, Up With Kilts

I was reminded, and embarrassing it was, that today is Robert Burns Day.

I am shocked and horrified that I have spent most of the day thinking about work, when I really should have been thinking about Men in Kilts!

For on Burns Day, any woman with even a wee dram of Scots in her blood, whether she be a comely young maiden or a withered old hag, will have a glint in her eye at the thought of a man in a kilt.

So, happy Burns Day to you all! May your cup be  filled with whisky, your plate with haggis and your men in kilts.

Is It Really Thursday?

Freestyle Photoshoot: The Interrogation Room

I'm still reeling from the the very rapid transition from being a desk-hermit, office-bound 7 days a week, 10-12 hours a day, for 2 months; to being a social butterfly flitting about town with my new camera to a photoshoot, an afternoon blogger-schmooze with 40 other bloggers, and a national television studio. 

Not to mention, reviewing & final sign off on final proofs, trying to nail down the printer on a delivery date so I can start the book launch and PR planning in earnest on CEOTv2. 

Has it really been an entire week since I said "ahhhhh, book delivered"?

Time sure flies when you're a butterfly.

Great News - while composing this post, we did successfully nail down a delivery date!!!  32 cases of brand spanking new CEOTs will be in my hands on Friday Feb 8th!  (Watch for a post announcing availability on the CEOTblog.com)

Please excuse me while I zip off to find a Book Launch Venue & sponsorships (anyone have connections at a good wine company?); write some kickin' PR pieces; reconfig the website to sell the new title; announce the availability to all and sundry... and... some other stuff that's on the list but not the tip of my tongue.

We will, we will Blog you!

From Rick Spence's Sweep! Sweep! to Rannies photomontage of the seating chart last night's adventure in National Television has been pretty effectively blogged. Add in Ryan & Adam's backstage video and you'll have the whole experience... sans the kickin' brunch with Eden & Kate, but that was just for us.

In case you didn't know.

We won!!!!

The bloggers swept the whole thing:

• Team Captain - Samantha Bee - Won.
• Team Bloggers - Won.
• Best Individual Score - Rick Spence (and co-back row rowdy) - Won.

Personally, after doing pathetically on the pre-game online Mental Gymnastic's (I scored somewhere between 20%-50% on all 5 tests), I was pretty surprised to pull off a 52/60 on the live show (unofficial score counted on my fingers).   Perhaps some of Rick's mad trivia skillz rubbed off on me as we were cracking bad jokes and starting chants from the back corner.

January 17th ROCKED!

What a day!

1. Finished & delivered the book. Thanks for all the woo hoos echoed back from around the country. (We sounded off from Cape Breton to Vancouver.)
2. Got me a brand new camera - Canon S5is. It comes with slick new features like:
   • better low-light capabilities (for restaurant and event shots),
   • a larger view screen (for my crappy eyesight) and
   • a black body (which is much more slimming)
   • and a 4-year warrantee (so that frighteningly familiar sound I'm already hearing won't cost me.)
3. Got to go to my first Freestyle Photoshoot with the aforementioned brand new camera. (did I mention the new camera?)
4. Finally got to spend some time Tanja and some other people I've been stalking for over a year now.
5. Still didn't get to bed 'til after 2am, but this morning I could actually sleep in past 6am, so it was a nice change!

Here's a little preview of how the new camera is working for me:
